Destinations not to be missed in Dien Bien

 
(TITC) - As the only province in the country sharing a border with both countries, Laos and China, Dien Bien is not only a historical rendezvous that attracts tourists by the monuments associated with the Dien Bien Phu victory but also a friendly destination for cultural tourism of 19 ethnic groups living together. Here are several spots to visit when coming to Dien Bien.

The westernmost point of A Pa Chai
Nestled on the top of Khoan La San mountain, is a landmark of the border crossing between the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - China, in Sin Thau commune, Muong Nhe district. Visitors will be able to admire the majestic mountain scenery, the mountain ranges seem to flow endlessly green from here. A Pa Chai is considered by tourists as one of the interesting but also challenging destinations because the way up is not yet fully facilitated.

Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum
Located on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, opposite the A1 Martyrs Cemetery, the museum holds more than 1,000 documents and artefacts along with historical scenes that recreate the arduous battle yet heroic of Vietnamese army and people. Majestic and full of pride is the feeling of any visitor when admiring the Panorama painting "Dien Bien Phu Campaign". This is a picture of a monumental history, made for the first time in Vietnam with an overall area of up to 3225 m2.

Muong Thanh field
It is the largest field in the Northwest with an area of over 4000 hectares, spreading throughout the Dien Bien Valley. In the ripe rice season, looking from above the field looks like a "golden valley". The specialty of the field is Dien Bien rice grains, with small, firm seeds, with strong sweetness, light aroma and high plasticity. This is also a delicacy that every visitor from afar wants to buy as a gift for their loved ones.

Tua Chua terraced fields
For many travel lovers, the ripe rice season is the most beautiful time of the year to adventure. Especially for those who love to "hunt" for masterpiece photos, the terraced fields of Tua Chua district are a place not to be missed. Coming to Tua Chua in April, May that is the season of water spilling, or September, October is the season of ripe rice. Looking out into the distance to see the golden terraced fields blended with the scattered houses on stilts, this scene will satisfy the most fastidious photography lovers.

Na Sang village with Bun Huot Nam water festival
Bun Huot Nam Water Festival is a traditional festival of the Lao ethnic group. Since 2015, water festival has been restored by the community of Na Sang village (Nua Ngam commune, Dien Bien district) at the time of the traditional Tet holiday of the Lao people (from 14th April to 16th April every year), contributing the reproduction of the lifestyle and customs of the people here.

Besides, Dien Bien Province also possesses magnificent cave system, hot mineral water sources and lakes spreading throughout, creating attractive natural beauty. In the past few years, community tourism in Dien Bien has also been developed. Coming to this land, visitors can also learn about the culture of 19 ethnic groups, immerse themselves in the living space rich in indigenous nuances of the Northwest highlands.
