HOANG NAM TRAVEL WOULD LIKE TO SHARE YOU SOME REGULATIONS ACORDING TO VIETNAMESE LAW OR REGULATIONS AS FOLLOWS:

REGULATIONS ON CARRYING OF GOLD BY INDIVIDUALS LEAVING OR ENTERING VIETNAM FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE.

Regulations on carrying of gold by individuals leaving or entering Vietnam for permanent residence according to Article 4 of Circular 11/2014/TT-NHNN are as follows:
- If foreign individuals, who are permitted to permanently reside in Vietnam, carry along material gold, ingot gold, jewelry gold and fine-art gold articles in a total amount of 300 (three hundred) grams or more, they shall declare such with customs offices.
* Those who carry gold in a total amount of between 300 (three hundred) grams and under 1 (one) kilogram shall declare such with customs offices;
* Those who carry gold in a total amount of 1 (one) kilogram or more must have permits for carrying of gold out of the country for permanent residence abroad granted by State Bank branches of provinces or centrally run cities where they reside, and at the same time shall declare such with customs offices.

Circular No. 15/2011/TT-NHNN of August 12, 2011, providing for the carrying of cash in foreign currency, Vietnamese dong by individuals upon entry into and exit from the country.

Amount of cash in foreign currency, Vietnamese dong to be declared to the border Customs upon entry into, exit from the country
1. Individuals carry foreign currency, Vietnamese dong in cash, upon entry into or exit from the country with passport through international border gates of Vietnam, in excess of the following amount shall be required to declare to the border Customs:
a. USD 5,000 (Five thousand United States dollars) or other foreign currencies of the same value;
b. VND 15,000,000 (Fifteen million Vietnamese Dong).

2. In the event where a person, upon entry into the country, carries an amount of cash in foreign currency in excess of USD 5,000 or other foreign currencies of the same value and has a demand for depositing such amount of foreign currency to his foreign currency payment account at a credit institution, foreign bank’s branch authorized to engage in foreign exchange (hereinafter collectively referred to as authorized credit institutions), he shall be required to declare to the border Customs. Entry-exit declaration statement with confirmation of the border Customs about the carried amount of foreign currency in cash as a basis for the authorized credit institution to cause the foreign currency in cash deposited to the payment account.

3. Amount of foreign currency and Vietnamese dong in cash required to be declared at the border gate Customs as stipulated in Paragraph 1 of this Article shall not be applied to the individuals who carry means of payment, valuable papers in foreign currency or in Vietnamese dong such as traveler’s cheques, bank card, savings book, securities and other valuable papers.

 
Pursuant to Article 8 of Decree 100/2020/ND-CP stipulating the quantity of duty-free purchases as follows:
 Quantification of duty-free purchases
Subjects may purchase duty-free goods to serve their personal needs and general daily-life needs of crew members on board ships traveling on international routes during the period. When a ship is moored at a Vietnamese seaport, the norms for each crew member in a time when a ship is anchored at a Vietnamese seaport is as follows:
a) Alcohol of 20 degrees or more: 1.5 liters or alcohol below 20 degrees: 2.0 liters or alcoholic beverages, beer: 3.0 liters.
For whole bottles, jars, jars and cans (hereinafter abbreviated as bottles) with a capacity larger than the prescribed capacity but not exceeding 01 liter, the whole bottle is exempt from tax. In case of exceeding 01 liter, the excess amount must be taxed according to the provisions of law;
b) Cigarettes: 200 cigarettes or tobacco: 250 grams or cigars: 20 cigarettes.
